Caiden's Hope Foundation...a lifeline to NICU parents across the country.
During the past few weeks, Caiden's Hope Foundation has been able to answer the call for help from the banks of the St. Johns River in the First Coast region of northeast Florida, up through Alabama and Georgia, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Connecticut and all the way to the western bank of the Connecticut River and Mount Tom Range in Massachusetts.
We ask you to pray for all the NICU families who were provided with help and hope and were able to care for the precious newborns thanks to the generosity of giving people such as you.
Faith paves the way
Over the last three years, I have been blessed to participate in Sunday church services as a camera operator on the church's Tech Team. During the sermon this past Sunday our Pastor spoke on the faith of Paul and Barnabas and how they went to Antioch to spread the news about Jesus Christ.
The strong faith of Barnabas and Paul reminded me of the faith we have had in spreading the message of Caiden's Hope Foundation. And, it surely was faith that brought Caiden's Hope Foundation to a talented young lady who became our National Ambassador-Mary Sarah.
Some time before we met Mary Sarah, my wife and I were with her parents celebrating their 60th wedding anniversary in Branson, Missouri, and got to attend and Oak Ridge Boys concert. Through a very roundabout route, we were put in touch with the artists and they signed a guitar for Caiden's Hope Foundation.
Several months later, we heard they were performing in Texas, bought tickets and made the fairly short trip down to Galveston to hear them again. During their show they announced that they had asked one of their young friends from Houston to perform. That young friend was Mary Sarah.
To say we were amazed by this extraordinary young
lady is an understatement!
After the show we immediately tried to meet her and found her outside standing by herself. This is where God took over. As I explained the mission of Caiden's Hope to Mary Sarah, she started to tear up. Thinking I had been too forward by telling her what we were doing, I apologized for making her cry. She responded by asking if I had Googled her, and said "How did you know?"
I told her I really knew nothing about her, but that we believed that God had provided a way for us to meet her and ask for her help. Through her tears, she told us about her brother who had been born weighing 1.2 pounds, and how her mother had cared for him. The story has been retold in their family many times as Mary Sarah and her sister were the 2nd and 3rd children in the family, and weren't even born when he was in the NICU.
We firmly believe that God intervened that night, bringing us together with this delightfully vibrant and talented young singer who graciously accepted our request that she be Caiden's Hope's National Ambassador.
It's been seven years since our first meeting and Caiden's Hope is so proud to call this young lady our great friend. She continues to support Caiden's Hope Foundation as National Ambassador, lending her talent at every opportunity to help raise funds for parents with a premature infant hospitalized in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit.
For those who may not have heard of Mary Sarah here's a brief background on her phenomenal career-She was raised in the Texas Opry circuit where she first began defining and honoring her traditional country roots. She then went on to land a major touring role with Kidz Bop at the age of 12.
Combining her touring experience with her love of traditional country music gave way to a once-in-a-lifetime album - duets featuring Country Music Legend's like Dolly Parton, Willie Nelson, Merle Haggard, Ray Price and much more - all before the age of 18. Her album is titled "Bridges."
In 2016, American embraced her on the #1 rated TV show in the country, The Voice, where her blind audition garnered her a 4-chair turn, singing country's iconic "Where the Boys Are" by Connie Francis. Since finishing 5th on The Voice (Season 10) & serving as the Kohl's Greenroom Host (Season 11), her opportunities have expanded to include multiple performances on the Grand Ole Opry.
Well, that's it for today, but we wanted to remind you that YOUR gifts to Caiden's Hope Foundation...small or large...are always greatly appreciated. And, more importantly, YOUR gifts go directly to help families with their tiny babies in NICU. Without YOU, some Mom may not be able to buy a sandwich for lunch today!
Thanks for continuing to follow Caiden's Hope Foundation.
See you in two weeks!
